In 2004, Eng. Mahmoud Sharawi founded his own confectionary establishment, Mahmoud Sharawi Chewing Gum Factory, Where he established the factory in the elite King Abdullah II Industrial Estate in Sahab, Amman.

The huge project was built on a two-phased duration. Phase one, covering 2500 square meters of land, where the actual establishment was around 700sqm; and phase two, which was executed in 2016, embraced the expansion of the territory, which has reached a total of 2880sqm.

Committed to safety, customer satisfaction, convenient packaging, and new flavors, Mahmoud Sharawi Chewing Gum was able to emerge into countries of the Middle East, Europe, as well as America and Canada. It has become one of the fastest growing entities of the confectionary industry in the region due to ever increasing innovation and development. Mahmoud Sharawi’s focus locally and globally is on developing great new products, convenient packaging, continuing to meet customer’s needs and exceeding their expectations, as well as raising awareness on the benefits of gum.

History

In the early sixties Mahmoud Sharawi’s father went on a business expedition where the result was, establishing the first chewing gum factory in Jordan.

As the family journey continued, the flame of the establishment shone brighter, and so did Mahmoud Sharawi’s dreams, an educated and zealous entrepreneur; a man of forth vision, entrepreneurial spirit, and great intellect.

His superb communication skills enabled him to pursue, create, and follow new and expanded territories for his import and export confectionary business.

Mahmoud Sharawi came up with a chewing gum that could exceptionally cater and is fit for consumer needs and welfare;

Eng. Mahmoud took the same leap as his father, yet this time it was further, and established his own chewing gum factory in 2004 walking confidently after his father’s steps with a bigger vision and a wider horizon.

Quality

Concerned with Food Safety Management Systems, Good Manufacturing Practices, and constant work flow,

Mahmoud Sharawi Chewing Gum Factory endeavored to apply the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points or HACCP system,

which is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe,

and designs measurements to reduce these risks to the safest levels using state of the art technologies and training our staff on the most hygienic practices.

Due to dedication and commitment to safety as well as high quality production, Mahmoud Sharawi Chewing Gum Factory, obtained the ISO 22000:2005 and HACCP,which are two of the most prominent food quality certifications!

Fulfilling that, our factory achieved the best workflow, hygiene of workers, hygienic environment ensuring the minimal of mistakes committed.

Furthermore, this resulted in development of the business and its operations from trying new flavors, planning for future products, to exploring new opportunities and expanding in current and new markets.
