In 2004, Engineer Mahmoud Al-Shaarawi established his own confectionery factory, naming it Mahmoud Al-Shaarawi Chewing Gum Factory. The factory is located in the King Abdullah II Industrial City in Sahab, Amman, Jordan. The project was built on a 2,500 square meter plot of land in two phases: the first phase, with an actual building area of approximately 700 square meters, and the second phase, completed in 2016, bringing the total building area to 2,880 square meters.Mahmoud El Shaarawy Factory has successfully reached markets in the Middle East, Europe, America, Canada, and Africa thanks to its commitment to food safety, its dedication to customer satisfaction, and its provision of uniquely packaged products with distinctive and innovative flavors. The Al-Sha’rawi family’s journey began in Jerusalem in the 1930s. They were renowned for their trade in foodstuffs in general, and sweets in particular.
In the early 1960s, the father of engineer Mahmoud Al-Sha’rawi embarked on a business trip, which led to the establishment of the first chewing gum factory in Jordan. This marked the beginning of the family’s industrial journey.
Mahmoud Al-Sha’rawi is a dynamic and entrepreneurial businessman, a visionary with a forward-thinking mind. His initiative and communication skills enabled him to explore new avenues for managing and expanding his confectionery business.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Mahmoud Al-Sha’rawi established a chewing gum factory in 2004, capable of meeting consumer needs and desires.
Product Quality
Based on the principles of food safety management systems and good manufacturing practices, Mahmoud Shaarawy Factory has implemented the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system. This systematic and preventative approach is designed to ensure food safety from biological, chemical, and physical hazards that may occur during production processes. Therefore, at Mahmoud Shaarawy Chewing Gum Factory, we have developed measures to enhance safety and preparedness using the latest technologies and have trained our employees in best hygiene practices.
Due to its dedication to safety and high production quality, Mahmoud El Shaarawy Factory obtained ISO 22000:2005 certification and a HACCP certification from Lloyd’s Worldwide. These certifications are among the most prominent quality certifications in the food system worldwide!
Following the acquisition of these certifications, the management of Mahmoud El Shaarawy Factory was able to achieve the best workflow, the highest level of cleanliness for workers and the factory, and the purchase of the best raw materials used in manufacturing. Moreover, a healthy environment ensured the minimum number of errors committed, which led to the flourishing and development of the business and its operations, starting with the production of new and delicious flavors, planning for future products, and ending with exploring new opportunities to expand the business and explore new markets.Private Label Services
